CUBE LABS EXTENDS STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH INBB FOR TRANSLATING COMMERCIALLY PROMISING ACADEMIC TECHNOLOGIES INTO HEALTHCARE SOLUTIONS

17 November 2022 – Cube Labs, the first venture builder in the healthcare technology space in Italy, announced today that it has extended its strategic partnership with the Italian National Institute for Biostructures and Biosystems (INBB), the leading interuniversity consortium in Italy, for exclusive access to commercial opportunities.  The announcement was made on the occasion of the 14th National Convention of the INBB titled “Research and Innovation for the Environment, Health and Nutrition”, held in Rome at the CNR headquarters, where Cube Labs Founder and CEO, Filippo Surace, and INBB Director, Pietro Ragni, co-chaired the “Technology Transfer and Spin Off” panel.

In 2017, Cube Labs and INBB had entered a 5-year partnership agreement, granting Cube Labs the right of first refusal to commercially promising technologies under development at INBB member universities, leading to the creation of academic spin offs in a public-private technology transfer model. Indeed, the agreement provides Cube Labs with access to valuable commercial opportunities and ensures close and direct contact with INBB researchers. The agreement has now been extended to 2025 and will enable Cube Labs’ exclusive access to an untapped deal flow.

We are very pleased to have extended this important partnership with INBB as we firmly believe in the value of bringing scientific innovation from the bench to the market,” commented Surace. “We look forward to continuing our joint effort, including through the raising of capital, to transform pioneering research into healthcare solutions that meet the needs of the global market.”

“Our partnership with Cube Labs enables promising INBB research to advance into commercial development,” stated Ragni. “This important link in the innovation value chain is integral to our mission and commitment to support INBB research.”
